About me

SHIR is an ambitious artist / songwriter from Scottsdale, Arizona. She started writing songs in her bedroom with her maroon guitar at 14 years old and she was hooked. At the age of 15 after attending the Berklee College of Music 5 week summer program, she knew she had to pursue a career in music. In 2021, she graduated from Belmont University's prestigious Songwriting Program in Nashville, TN and relocated to Los Angeles. While at Belmont she was hand selected to participate in multiple Songwriting Camps (Sony Music Germany, UMPG, RX Songs, Atlantic Records, ArtHouse) and Songwriting Showcases like the Annual Grammy U Showcase and the ASCAP Songwriters Showcase. As an artist and songwriter, she takes inspiration from female songwriters like Julia Michaels, Gracie Abrams, and Sasha Alex Sloan. SHIR’s debut single, God For A Day, inspired by her twin brother with Cerebral Palsy was awarded a Gold Level Prize in the Fall 2020 Music City SongStar Competition and was a semi-finalist for the 2021 USA Songwriting Competition. When she isn’t focused on her artistry, she loves getting in the studio and writing for other artists. She co-wrote the viral hit that garnered over 30M views across social media platforms, Could’ve Just Left Me Alone, which landed Alexa Cappelli a record deal with Arista Records. At the start of this year, she penned another viral song he loves me, he loves me not by Jessica Baio (10K Projects) which gained 50M views online before its release in January. Many of her songs have been featured on notable playlists such as Spotify’s Pop Rising, Pop Sauce, Chill Hits, teen beats, young & free, New Music Friday and SALT as well as on BBC’s Radio 1: Future Pop. In total her songwriting catalog has garnered nearly 55M streams to date. You can expect many more songs to come from SHIR this year. She wants to share the knowledge she’s gained throughout her career and pass it on to the next generation of songwriters.
